ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions. A.A. is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy; neither endorses nor opposes any causes. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety.

    Hey fellow HITS!!!

Just a grateful girl who owes her beginnings in recovery to the Hole in the Sky and GONZO and Life’s in Session, and I would like to connect with some of the “oldtimers” I got sober with. My life’s journey has made Edmonton my destination for the past 11 years. I celebrated 17 years clean on December 15th, 2009. Spent my first Christmas at the Hole in the Sky and some guy took me to Unit A’s alcathon and kept me sober…and I have been ever since by the grace of God, the program and the loving fellowship. Please post my link on your board for anyone that remembers me. I would love to see who else has kept on trudging. Living loving and laughing in Alberta!!! Thinking of you often. Come up to a meeting at the Camel Club sometime.

    Love and many blessings,

    Lisa Marie

Hi’ my name is Hugo Argueta an old friend of George P Cohen, the reason why I’m trying to get in touch with you is for the following; my friend George was assisting at one time to your classes and every once in a while a would keep him company, my concern for my friend is that he’s on denial of his own acts by going to diffent Dr’s and to this day still getting prescriptions that are highly addicting, my friend even stop talking to me simply to the fact that I wouldn’t take him to all these Dr’s I refused to drive him everywhere as I was telling him that what you guys have said at one time during classes that it was true, that the individual who was on denial still taking illegal narcotics if they didn’t windup incarcerated they would windup dead..My friend told me, hey! look Hugo the truth is that I like to much taking drugs and there’s nothing that I can do to change that Get it!!!. Dear Sr. I see my friend already suffering for his acts and I feel pretty much unable to help him anymore since this morning I called him to see how he was doing by him replying back, why? don’t you Jump out a window and die!!. it also appears that his sister Janene Willcox has a lot of influence on him and if able to mainipulate even her own mother an 85 year old that just about on a daily basis she abuses her by destroying her furniture and verbally screaming at her..by the way I had tried many different ways to bring the word of God” to them and they would just curse me out.. and I guess at the end I’m just leaving things to God” May God” Bless” Them all……………………………..

    To Whom It May Concern:

My name is Bob “Muff” McDermott and I am a member of the Walworth Alano Club in Delavan, WI. Also, I am part of the planning committee for the 12 Step Club Leadership Conferences. This year we are planning the 7th yearly conference on Oct 9 &10 at Steven Pt, WI. You can get more information on our web site: http://www.12stepclubswi.com

Due to the economic times there are few scholarships available for the Wisconsin 12-step club. If you are out of state you are welcome to come, but there is no money for the scholarship available for out of state. There is a limit of 2 people from one club, if you are out of state. Please don’t procrastinate!

The Hudson Alano Club Society of 322 Vine Street in Hudson, Wisconsin, sustained $60,000 worth of fire damage on March 25. What a scary thought to lose a place where so many go to get their recovery. I have decided to cash in my loose change to donate to the Hudson Alano Club. With so much damage, I know that every little bit helps. I thought that other members of your club might like to help out by having a jar out this month for loose change donations from meeting goers. I know it will take time to recover from this fire, but I am hoping the Hudson Alano Society will have a representative at the Leadership Conference. These donations can be sent to the Hudson Alano Society 322 Vine St, Hudson, and WI 54016-1626

Help hints from round table: Maybe your 12th step club or Alano Club has had a positive impact in your life. Please consider including your 12th Alano Club in your estate planning. Some 12th organizations have a cap on donations. Your club may not have a cap, so consider this estate plan as part of your tax deduction.

In the past years we have had some people comment that fall is a hard time of year for this conference. We could set up two a year that are regional. When I travel, I can set up meetings with you and talk about the conference and the association.

If your club is not a member of the Association, you can always go to the web site and down load a CLUB MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION . We are looking for panelists from clubs that will be interested in coming to next year’s conference in Wisconsin. If you would like to participate in next year’s conference, please consider bringing a give-away and raffle prizes if possible. At the same time we would like to thank you for your participation in making this year’s conference a success.

Wisconsin Association 12 Step Club will put on the 8th Annual 12 Step Club Leadership Conference This Conference is not being held at a free facility and the cost for speakers, printing and supplies can entail considerable expenses and advanced planning is required for the success of this event.
To help defray the cost of the conference, you can hold dances and other events, which are open to anyone looking for sober fun! Donations also go toward full and partial conference fees.
This events also helps get the publicly for the 8th annual 12 Step Club Leadership Conference.

We are always looking to get more Alano Club or 12th Step Club snail mail & addresses, email addresses if you can get us some, please email your address so we can send our conference information.
Thank you and if you can, please share this with other 12th step clubs in your area if you can post this on your web site or newsletter, this will help us out greatly. Words cannot express how grateful we are for all your help.
If you want to be deleted from this mailing list, please email and use unsubscribe in the subject and I will delete your information.

    Sincerely,

    Bob “Muff” McDermott
